Something I got this year was a pair of the new balance base shoe.  I got these for baseball but I like them so much, I'm wearing them for football too.  Here in Alabama, we have to have solid black shoes.  So the link I'm providing below is to the all black shoes.   They do have a style with the big white N on them.  These come with a shine on them already and I must say, it's held up very well.  All I do to them is clean them off and hit them with a little pledge.  Yes, Pledge furniture poilish will really put a nice shine on them and it's real quick and eazy.
